Q: Why AE Transfer became free?
A: Since March 2022, all payment methods on the website don't work because Russia invaded Ukraine. The author strongly condemns this war and stands with Ukraine.

Q: Is the tool completely free to use on any computers?
A: Yes. Since version 2.1, AE Transfer is completely free, no licensing and no limitations. The project exists due to donations and enthusiasm. You can use it on your own on any number of computers. You cannot sell it.

Q: How to install and use the scripts?
A: To get comprehensive information about installing and using the scripts please watch the videos.

Q: How to install the script for After Effects on a computer without 3ds Max installed?
A: To install the script for After Effects only do the following:
1. Change the extension of the *.mzp file to *.zip and unzip it.
2. Copy the *.jsxbin file to the following location:
<AE install folder>\Support Files\Scripts
To run the script find it in the File > Scripts menu in After Effects.

Q: How to install the script for After Effects on Mac OS?
A: You can run the script for After Effects on Mac OS since version 2.02. Do the following:
1. Change the extension of the *.mzp file to *.zip and unzip it.
2. Copy the *.jsxbin file to the following location:
After Effects/Scripts
To run the script find it in the File > Scripts menu in After Effects.

Q: When I click on AE Transfer icon on the toolbar in 3ds Max it shows the error message:
"-- Runtime error: array index must be positive number, got: 0".

A: Please delete the file "AE Transfer-aeTransfer.mcr" from the following directory:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsmax\<version> - 64bit\ENU\usermacros\AE Transfer-aeTransfer.mcr
Then restart 3ds Max.

Q: The installer can not find the After Effects.
A: It seems, the After Effects was installed not in the "Program Files/Adobe" folder (not on the Windows system disk). In this case, install the script for 3ds Max (by running the *.mzp and clicking on "Install"), then unzip the *.mzp file, and manually copy the *.jsxbin file to the following directory:
<AE install folder>\Support Files\Scripts
Please keep in mind that in this case, when you uninstall or update the scripts using installer in the future, you need to manually delete or replace the *.jsxbin file in After Effects folder every time.

Q: I've got an error/incorrect work of the script. What should I do?
A: First, please check out the Known Issues list. If you didn't find your case there, please describe your problem in detail and e-mail to support@ae-transfer.com. It's very important to specify the following information:
- What versions of 3ds Max and After Effects are you using?
- Attach the screenshot of the error message.
- If the error occurred during exporting from 3ds Max please specify what type of camera are you using (standard Free, Target, Physical, V-Ray, Corona, etc.), specify what objects were added to the export list, and attach the *.jsx file if it was generated.
- If you are exporting from After Effects please specify what type of camera are you using, One-node or Two-node, and attach the *.ms file if it was generated.
